It has been an awhile since camp has been over and you should be in the heart of your wrestling season. Remember to stop and reflect on the six fundamentals life/wrestling skills that you learned and we reinforced while you were at camp. Take a couple minutes to ask yourself how you can incorporate these skills into your current life and training... Discipline, dedication, sacrifice, hard work, responsibility, and accountability. "Winning isn't everything; it's the only thing."
This quote is often incorrectly attributed to Hall of Fame coach Vince Lombardi. In fact, it was first said by Henry (Red) Sanders in 1950 and received national recognition when it was used in the 1953 movie Along the Way. The combination of the movie and Coach Lombardi's adoption of the quote immortalized the words and presumably, even the logic. But, is winning everything?

"I recently got a call from a Mom wondering why her son, who attended our 14 day Oregon Intensive Camp, was asking her to find Melatonin as a weight loss aide. I thought I would quickly review the use of Green Tea and Melatonin as way to help lose weight.

"I just wanted to send a quick email to you thank you for the things that you taught my son at the Oregon Intensive Wrestling Camp. Tyler Weiss, my son, came home saying, "This was the hardest thing I have ever done, and I loved it!" He continues to quote J Robinson and talks about all the things he learned. The day after he got home he awoke at 6:30 am and went for a five-mile run. He says he needs to stay in a system.
We hope he does well this year. His goal is to finish in the top 3 in the state of Washington. I am sure it will not be easy, but we hope if he continues to work hard that he can do it."
Thank you again.
Matt Weiss (parent)
