Smile Network International

Sue Rubens PeruSince 2011, JROB has partnered with Smile Network International (SNI), a Minnesota-based nonprofit humanitarian organization, to raise funds for life-changing facial surgery to underresourced children and young adults in developing countries. SNI funds surgical missions and provides necessary supplies needed to repair birth defects, with a focus on cleft lips, cleft palates, and other conditions requiring surgical intervention such as burns, tumors or other genetic defects. The surgeries are free of charge and are available to children who would otherwise go untreated.

We place a donation box at each Intensive Camp and encourage campers to give throughout camp. Our company then matches their donations dollar-for-dollar, resulting in donations totaling $66,907 since 2011. In addition, JROB co-owner Sue Rubens (see photo) raised $12,365 as part of a June 2019 mission trip to Lima, Peru, bringing our total donations to $79,272. The cost of each surgery is approximately $500, so our campers' donations and our company's matching gifts and fundraising have made at least 158 surgeries possible. On September 30, 2017, J Robinson was honored by SNI as a recipient of the “Champion of Hope Award.”
