How is J Rob Intensive Hockey different?

Are you striving to make a team, get scouted or to play hockey at the collegiate  or professional level?  Join us and train like many elite and professionals do in the off-season.  You will be provided with a high quality, dynamic training experience with emphasis on changing your performance level and reaching your goals.  Our staff is made up of professionals and collegiate players are serious about your development and will be training right alongside you.      

Your training is a dynamic comprehensive and progressive system with concentration in the areas of:
    • On-ice and off-ice drills and technique sessions
    • Classroom discussions on strategy
    • A weight training and conditioning program
    • Footwork and agility workouts
    • Mental attitude and visualization sessions

Your physical and mental capacity will be improved and accelerated through the process of the program.  Train with us in the legendary Mariucci Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota or join us at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.  This is a hockey training experience like no other!  Come train like a pro, with the pros this summer!

Skills Development

You will be instructed through dynamic, innovative drills at full speed to assist in developing your strength, endurance, agility and quickness.  Special emphasis will be put on speed training, small area games, puck control, passing and receiving, shot placement and angling.

Mental Discipline

The game is 4 parts mental, to 1 part physical. Mental discipline is a key component to your success that is frequently overlooked.  You will learn the importance of mental discipline through concentration, relaxation and visualization sessions.

Classroom Instruction

You will be taught the importance of being students of the game through classroom instruction and video presentation along with special guest speakers.  In addition, you receive off-ice training in game strategy, with interactive discussion on fore-checking, back checking, breakouts, power plays, penalty kill and team-based strategies.   

Off-Ice Training

Under the guidance a hockey specific strength and conditioning coach, you will train in the areas of: flexibility and movement skills, speed, agility and quickness for improving reaction time, strength and power development, nutritional and active rest strategies for enhancing recovery, injury prevention, muscle balance training and visual agility training.
