How is J Rob Intensive Hockey different?

Intensive Training differs by providing a rigorous pace and high level of execution. Doing something consistently over and over again at a high level is where you make gains, break bad and develop new habits.

Intensive Training will emphasize expanding your mental capacity and training your body in a way no other program does. Of course you can perform when you feel good and when you are fresh, but there is no great accomplishment in that.

Our Intensive Training Programs will teach you how to perform when you don’t feel good, when you are tired, when your body hurts and when you think you want to quit. You will learn how to perform under adverse circumstances so when the game is on the line and you need to win, you will be equipped with the skills to get you there.

Skills Development

You will be instructed through innovative drills at full speed to assist in developing your strength, endurance, agility and quickness. Special emphasis will be put on speed training, small area games, puck control, passing and receiving, shot placement and angling.

Mental Discipline

“The game is 4 parts mental, to 1 part physical.” J Rob Intensive Hockey believes mental discipline is a key component to your success that is frequently overlooked. You will learn the importance of mental discipline through concentration, relaxation and visualization sessions.

Classroom Instruction

You will be taught the importance of being students of the game through classroom instruction and video presentation along with special guest speakers. In addition, you receive off-ice training in game strategy, with interactive discussion on fore-checking, back checking, breakouts, power plays, penalty kill and team-based strategies.

Off-Ice Training

Our professional sports trainer Joe Schoenleber (CEO, MVP Sports Training & Fitness) takes a hand on approach in training you. Emphasis is put on: flexibility and movement skills, speed, agility and quickness for improving reaction time, strength and power development, nutritional and active rest strategies for enhancing recovery, injury prevention, muscle balance training and visual agility training.
